Stage of testing: Ready for play-testing [V2.3]
Ahhh, the bard! One of my favourite 5th edition classes to play! This brew came about from a discussion in my game, with a player getting frustrated trying to make a historian type character and struggling. Although they could write the background for a character that is more learned, there were no mechanics to help this show through. So I thought up the College of Archaeologists. A school of bards that spend there lives learning, visiting and expanding their knowledge of places past. Although they don't perform like other bards, their form of inspiration and spell casting comes from recalling lost information and reciting/teaching it to others. With the clever use of spells you can even RP very Indiana Jones with it. I have considered adding Whip proficiency, but thought that may be a bit much!
Currently this class has been work shopped a few times on various websites, and is set up as two players back up characters. So stage 3 should be happening soon to see how it performs in game.
But what are your thoughts? I would love to see what you folks in internet land think of this brew, and, if any one plays it, please let me know! It is the most rewarding thing as a content creator to know people actually use your content!
