Monk: The Kensai [V3.0] [Set 1]

Stage of testing: Play-testing [V3.0]

The Kensai. Traditionally a very popular class to play. I have seen this done  a million and one ways in 5th edition. Some take a fighter and give them some monk like abilities, others build a whole new class. For me, I felt making a Monk archetype was the most fitting. And boy am I glad how this turned out. This, along with the Arcane Paladin, the Darkness Domain Cleric and the Bounty hunter rogue are my favourites of this set. In fact I like this Kensai so much that it is my next back up if Adam (my Shadow Wizard) dies. This archetype has seen a lot of balancing on forums as well. Attuned weapon is a ki (haha instead of key....gosh I am lame) aspect of the class, bonding a weapon to you that allows you to use monk unarmed abilities with it, wich includes martial arts and stunning strike. Ki Blade is a borrowed idea from the Way of a Hundred Fists core Monk. It adds an extra ability when you flurry of blows. I opted to go for different abilities to the WoHF to add variety in archetype selection. The rest of the abilities are straight forward. A flavour thread in weapon crafting, an improved deflect missile and a fear. Perfect Strike has had a little back and forthing on it's strength. Some feel it is to strong, whilst others see it as 4 ki for a watered down 4th level cleric spell as a level 17 ability. I think it is one of those things that will need play-testing to see how strong it really is. I currently know of one payer at 7th level playing this, but they only just started after the death of a character.

But what are your thoughts? I would love to see what you folks in internet land think of this brew, and, if any one plays it, please let me know! It is the most rewarding thing as a content creator to know people actually use your content!

Goodbye for now,
Upsidedown
